In Orlando, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Florida vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8:30 am–5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Old Time Auto Repair at (321) 229-3584; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, oldtimeautorepair.com.

Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 50 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Orlando.

Orlando is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Traffic in Orlando peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. They were friendly and very talented on my Olds. The repairs were done in a timely manner. I had to wait on a drive shaft for two weeks because the shop that remade it was backed up.

Bill and the whole team are EXCELLENT! They really know their cars, and do phenomenal work. Did a bunch of work on my 69 Chevelle Malibu and couldn’t be happier!

Where do I begin… I checked out all the reviews on here and they were 100% on point. I wanted a shop that cared as much about my car as our family has (bought off the showroom in β€˜93). Lee was all that and then some! Personable, knowledgeable and genuine. Took her in for an engine tune expecting the worst and turns out she is β€œclean” (as Lee said). Just needed some plug/distributor and fuel filter work…all done while we were out of town for a few days. Gonna schedule a preventative engine lift/reseal next month (much needed after 30 years) and I honestly can’t wait. Peggy is running better than ever. Maybe my 7 year will get her in another 30 years…haha. Thanks Lee!

I must say Lee and his whole team of mechanics are amazing. They do what they say they are going to do. They are an honest group of guys turning wrenches because they love to. You can see that every time you walk into the shop or talk to them on the phone. I brought my β€˜69 Chevy C10 pickup in for a complete engine replacement. They installed a Jasper 350 in the truck and it runs amazing. I had a few other concerns and they handled everything perfectly and timely without trying to sell me something I didn’t need. I absolutely love this truck and it won’t be visiting any other shop. L&J Street Rods is the Real Deal. Don’t waste your time going anywhere else.

Where do I begin...Lee Mullis built my dream car! When I moved from Colorado to Florida, I found Lee. He worked on my 74 Camaro with a big block and I never looked back. I knew when I met him he was all business: 1) a nice person 2) knows what the hell he is doing 3) likely one of the most qualified mechanics I have ever met. When I bought my 68 Camaro I called Lee, of course he was ready for the challenge. I won't get into the details of the not so fun motor that was ready to crack..Lee let me know that before he started any work. He is one of the most honest people I have met in the hot rod business. Needless to say 16 months later (after every engine I bought failed, and he let me keep my car at his shop) he made this car a DREAM! Not only is he my go to mechanic forever, he is a lifelong friend. SEMPER FI LEE! You are the man!
